
Telangana Weather Update: IMD Warns of Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall
Orange Alert in Multiple Districts
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has issued an orange alert warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts of Telangana until Friday morning. The warning covers both Hyderabad city and surrounding districts.
Low-Pressure Area and Forecasts
While independent weather forecasters suggested that the low-pressure area (LPA) has shifted towards Marathwada, the IMD said its impact would continue over parts of Telangana. As a result, severe downpours are likely in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal, and Kamareddy until early Friday.
Hyderabad and Nearby Districts on Alert
Apart from Hyderabad, rainfall warnings have been issued for Medchal-Malkajgiri, Rangareddy, Yadadri Bhongir, Mahabubnagar, and Bhadradri Kothagudem.

The orange alert also covers the following districts:

Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Rajanna Siricilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayshankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Mahabubabad, Hanamakonda, Warangal, Jangaon, Siddipet, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, and Medak.
Light to Moderate Rain Across Telangana
In addition, the IMD forecast includes light to moderate rain with thunderstorms for all parts of Telangana until Friday morning. Residents have been advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
