Basar Temple in Telangana Earns Over Rs 1 Crore in 89 Days from Devotee Offerings
The Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devasthanam in Basar has earned a total of Rs 1.03 crore in offerings over a period of 89 days, from August 28 to November 25, 2024. The temple’s income was calculated through the counting of hundi offerings, which included gold ornaments weighing 143 grams, 4.250 kilograms of silver ornaments, and 147 foreign currency notes donated by devotees.
According to the temple’s executive officer, Vijayarama Rao, the income was recorded on Tuesday during a formal counting process at the temple premises. Present during the counting were the chairman of the temple’s governing council, Sharath Pathak, and officials from the endowments department, including M Raja Mouli, alongside Basar police, SBI staff, and local volunteers from Vagdevi Society and Shrisaila Bramarambika Seva Samithi of Kamareddy district.
The continuous flow of offerings highlights the devotion of pilgrims visiting the Basar temple, one of the most revered sites in Telangana.
