Over 50 Students Hospitalized in Telangana Hostel After Food Poisoning Incident

A food poisoning incident at a state-run welfare boys’ hostel in Jogulamba Gadwal district, Telangana, left 52 students hospitalized on Friday night.

Officials reported that students experienced vomiting and stomach pain after consuming dinner, which included sambar, rice, and cabbage curry.


Students Admitted to Government Hospital

The affected students, residing at the hostel in Dharmavaram, Itikyala Mandal, were immediately admitted to a government hospital.
Doctors confirmed that all students are now clinically stable, with 32 students discharged. The remaining students are under observation and care.

A district health official said a medical camp is being run at the hostel to monitor students and provide immediate treatment.


Officials Take Preventive Measures

Authorities emphasized that the incident is under investigation, and the food safety protocols at the hostel are being reviewed.
Officials reassured that the health and safety of all students remain the top priority.

“We are closely monitoring the situation and providing medical care to all affected students,” said the official.

Parents and guardians have been notified, and students are being observed for any further symptoms. Authorities urge prompt medical attention for anyone experiencing stomach discomfort or vomiting after consuming meals at public hostels.
