
Tata AIG Targets 5% Retail Health Insurance Market Share in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh by FY25
Tata AIG General Insurance is aiming to capture a 5% share in the retail health insurance market in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh within the next two years. This goal follows a 3X growth in its business across both states over the past year.
Speaking at a recent event, Pratik Gupta, Head of Agency at Tata AIG, said, “We’ve grown our market share from 2.1% to 3.6% in two years. Our target is to hit 5% market share, and we plan to add 15,000 new distribution partners to make that happen.”
The company already operates in 51 districts in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with key branches in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Warangal, Karimnagar, and Nellore. Tata AIG also has a strong network of 1,600+ hospitals and 14,500+ advisors in the region.
Rudraraju Rajagopal, Head of Accident & Health Claims, highlighted rising healthcare costs and said the company achieved a claim settlement ratio of 97% in FY25. Additionally, cashless claim usage was 81% in Telangana and 68% in Andhra Pradesh.
The total retail health insurance market in India reached ₹47,000 crore in FY25. Out of this, Tata AIG contributed ₹1,186 crore nationwide, with Telangana and Andhra Pradesh making up 8% of the industry total.
