Man Who Accused K Chandrasekhar Rao of Corruption Murdered in Telangana; Police Suspect Land Dispute

Police Suspect Land Dispute as Motive Behind Killing

Hyderabad: A man who accused BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao of corruption in a major irrigation project was brutally murdered in Telangana. The victim, N Rajalinga Murthy, was scheduled to appear in court regarding his complaint about the misuse of public funds.

Murder Before Court Hearing

Murthy had filed a legal case against K Chandrasekhar Rao and others, alleging their involvement in the collapse of Medigadda barrage piers, part of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. He claimed that crores of public funds were misused in the project.

Murthy’s case faced resistance, as local police refused to register an FIR. As a result, he moved the matter to the high court (HC). The court was set to hear KCR’s petition challenging Murthy’s case when he was killed the night before the hearing.

Brutal Attack in Bhupalapally

Murthy was traveling on his bike when he was attacked by two unidentified assailants in Bhupalapally town, Telangana. Reports suggest that he tried to escape, but the attackers chased him down and stabbed him to death.

Possible Land Dispute Motive

Police believe a land dispute could be the primary motive for the murder. “Murthy had disputes over land with several local individuals,” said a police officer.

Authorities are investigating whether the corruption case he filed played a role in his murder. The case has sparked concerns over political and legal safety in Telangana.
